Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika who reacted to the postponement of election and excuse Nigeria's electoral body gave, disclosed that INEC lied about the weather being bad to move materials.
Recall that INEC Chairman, Yakubu Mahmood disclosed that the presidential and National Assembly elections were postponed over bad weather which affected flight operations.
However reacting to this via Twitter, Minister of State for Aviation who insinuated that INEC lied about weather, wrote; “INEC should say something else as weather was good for flight operations on the eve of elections, similarly all airports were directed to open 24 hours during the election period.”
However an Spokesman for the electoral body, Mr Oluwole Osaze-Uzezi who spoke with a Punch correspondent, debunked counter claims made by the Minister.
He said; “Did we say weather was bad on Saturday or Friday? No, we said days before the election and we stand by that.”
